Shé:kon, Hello.
I’m Brian Doxtator, majority owner and President at PureSpirIT Solutions. I want to thank you for your interest in learning more about our business.
PureSpirIT is a 12-year-old IT reseller that supplies products across the country from coast-to-coast-to-coast. We have great supply partners (Like Lenovo, Logitech, Dell, HP, Getac, ViewSonic, Microsoft, Cisco, and more), we have great customers, and most importantly, we have great staff, and great processes that will deliver on our promises every single day.
I came into PureSpirIT two years ago; I had a former career as an entrepreneur in the construction industry. I sold my business, and after a two-year hiatus, I came back into the PureSpirIT fold with this opportunity. My family and I are so pleased, and we cherish the opportunity we had to purchase this business every single day. It’s not only a great business that provides a good living for a good group of folks in our company, but it’s also a company that gives back. We give back to Indigenous activities, initiatives, causes, and we provide employment and education opportunities to Indigenous Peoples across the country.
I’m a member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte. I grew up just outside of the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, which is on the North shore of the Bay of Quinte. I now live in Ottawa, where PureSpirIT is headquartered. I’ve learned at PureSpirIT in the last two years that being part of something that is bigger than the group we are is so Important. We do good work, we provide an opportunity for people to make a good living, and we contribute towards others outside of our business and empower them to have a better life. It’s important to me that our company as an Indigenous-owned business contributes towards Indigenous Reconciliation. People need opportunity. People need hands-up, not hands-out, and that’s what we’re focused on. If every company across this country could contribute a little bit, the path of reconciliation would be much easier.
We contribute annually to Focus Forward for Indigenous Youth, a non-profit organization that empowers and provides opportunity and employment skills to Indigenous Youth within their own community. These are real-world projects that provide real skills, both employment, and life skills, and help young people move forward in their lives to have a good, successful career and family life.
We provide an annual bursary and an annual scholarship for Indigenous students who are either starting or returning to Algonquin college in technical, business, communications, or marketing programs.
The Moose Hide Campaign is a national initiative, which our company, and our staff embrace. It provides awareness, and strives to end gender-based violence within our communities – very, very, very important.
At PureSpirIT, we provide 10% of our pretax net income towards Indigenous organizations and initiatives on an annual basis. As an Indigenous-owned company, we have a real responsibility to not only provide employment opportunities and education opportunities, but to support other initiatives and to bring into the fold other businesses along the path of Reconciliation.
We need to have better economic opportunity, and better economic results for Indigenous Communities to really get us to where we need to be as a country.
Thanks for listening to my story, and for taking the time to get to know a little bit about PureSpirIT.
PureSpirIT – we are the SpirIT of Transformation.
