PureSpirIT’s commitment to Indigenous procurement integrity and community support
OTTAWA – Recently, PureSpirIT was misrepresented in media coverage and at a House of Commons committee hearing, leading to misunderstandings about our majority Indigenous-owned business and our compliance with Indigenous procurement requirements. We want to set the record straight.
At PureSpirIT, we take immense pride in creating jobs and economic opportunities in our community while supporting the Canadian Federal Government’s IT needs. We are committed to transparency, integrity, and unwavering dedication to Indigenous values and community growth.
Here’s what else you should know:
Certified Indigenous Ownership: PureSpirIT meets all Canadian Council for Indigenous Business (CCIB) requirements, holds the Certified Indigenous Business (CIB) designation, and is proudly listed in the Indigenous Business Directory. This certification attests that we meet or exceed the criteria to be recognized as an Indigenous-owned and operated business.
Federal Procurement Compliance: Whenever asked, we have happily worked with Indigenous Services Canada to affirm our adherence to all relevant procurement criteria. We are committed to fully meeting and maintaining all Indigenous procurement standards.
Community Contributions: PureSpirIT actively supports Indigenous communities by providing annual bursaries to Indigenous students at Algonquin College, donations to the Focus Forward initiative, and sponsorships for initiatives like the Moose Hide Campaign and the Masters Indigenous Games. Since our founding, we have focused on not just business success but contributing positively to Indigenous communities across Canada.
“PureSpirIT has always ensured we meet the full requirements of Indigenous procurement, including our registration in the Indigenous Business Directory,” said Brian Doxtator, PureSpirIT’s CEO and majority owner. “As a proud member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, I am dedicated to PureSpirIt’s commitment to create jobs for Indigenous people and opportunities that benefit Indigenous communities.”
“We remain true to our values and are grateful to serve our community and government with integrity,” said Doxtator. “We will continue to prioritize Indigenous growth and development.”
